sounds like one of Wange's inappropriate sayings "I pulled off a Dutch Gable last night"

An otherwise neat-looking gable roof, made to look like a hay-barn by adding annoying hip triangles at the ends of the ridges.

A Dutch gable is a hip roof with a small gable or gablet above it in order to simplify its construction. It is used to reduce the solar gain of your house during the summer.
